Item 8.01. Other Events.
On February 9, 2022, Selecta Biosciences, Inc. (the “Company”) submitted a written response to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) in order to provide the FDA with additional information on the chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) related to its MMA-101 product candidate. As previously announced, the Company received a letter from the FDA on November 23, 2021 notifying the Company that the FDA had placed a clinical hold on the Company’s Phase 1/2 clinical trial of SEL-302 (which consists of MMA-101 plus ImmTOR) for the treatment of patients with methylmalonic acidemia (“MMA”).
The FDA is expected to evaluate the Company’s response and determine whether the information provided is satisfactory to allow the Phase 1/2 clinical trial to proceed.
